2022 Porsche 911 Review, Pricing, and Specs

September 17th, 2021 by

Even though the first generation of Porsche 911 Carrera GTS made a debut more than a decade ago, this sporty car still generates a lot of excitement when a new model is introduced. Just a few months ago, the company introduced the 2022 Porsche 911 GTS, which will be available in cabriolet and coupe body styles. The models will either be all wheel or rear-drive.

GTS Models Are Special

Unlike the traditional Porsche, the GTS models are something special because they not only come with a sexy sporty look but exceptional performance and state-of-the-art equipment, and the 2022 Porsche 911 GTS is no different. Porsche, however, has been quite clever; it has not changed features that have made the car a success.  The company has stood by the motto, “if something works, do not mess with it.”

The 2022 Porsche 911 Carrera comes with a 3-liter turbo 6 that generates 473 hp. The 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission ensures that the sports car will hit 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, beating many older models.

Both the Porsche 911 convertible and GTS coupe will have a modified suspension and brakes based on the 911 turbo. Other nice features include adaptive dampers and rear helper springs, which will add more aerodynamics to the car.

Some options for buyers include removing the rear seat and installing bucket seats composed of carbon fiber, a battery that is of lighter weight, and also glass that is of lighter weight used for the rear and side windows. These features will make the 2022 Porsche 911 GTS 55 pounds lighter.

Exterior Features

Many exterior features that showcase the GTS Porsche include the wheels, front lip spoiler, engine cover grill, and GTS script, which are all in black satin, including the Targa bar. Minor changes have been made to the headlight trim and the taillights have been darkened. The GTS comes with 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels with black center locks, which are not novel to this model. The trim for the side sills, front and rear end all have been derived from the SportDesign package.

Interior Features

The interior comes with a standard GT sporting steering wheel and a synthetic suede covering. The rest of the interior features are the same as the older GTS models. However, the 2022 Porsche 911 GTS will be the first to have the latest generation Porsche Communication Management infotainment system, that will feature a touchscreen with large icons and a voice recognition that is compatible with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

Pricing

The 2022 Porsche 911 GTS will be available in early 2022 with a base price of $102,550 for the Carrera coupe.  The Porsche 911 convertible (cabriolet) Carrera S will start at $131,250, while the Carrera GTS convertible starts at $145,350.  The Targa GTS will start at $158,150.

This beautiful athletic sports car is not only lavish but offers a roomy interior with a very satisfying drive.
