Aside from the powertrain, the new electric Macan features a new digital dash, where utility and user-friendliness were the operative design philosophy. It’s similar to the Taycan’s dual-screen setup, in that it strictly delineates driver display and infotainment functions, though the dashboard lacks the secondary touchscreen.

The electric Macan will spearhead Porsche’s and Audi’s new Premium Platform Electric system, expected to boost efficiency and power via:

• 800-volt fast-charging technology
• A “charge banking” function that charges the battery as two separate 400-volt packs on slower fast-charging stations
• 5–80% charge times in under 25 minutes

With equal parts brains and brawn, it appears Macan’s transition to electric will leave a marked impact on the EV industry writ large.

When Is the 2024 Electric Macan Available?

Porsche is still holding back on details, and the above intel is largely the result of passionate car paparazzi — but we know software development issues delayed an original 2023 release date already.
