The famed Porsche GT3 R race car is making a comeback and will compete against others at Le Mans. This model replaces the 991-generation 911 RSR, which has won many accolades over the years. It enters racing at the end of 2023 and will have a combination of features and technology to make it a worthy competitor.

GT3 992 will be a Formidable Competitor

The GT3 Class is a popular racing series around the world, taking part in major races such as the DTM and IMSA. After retiring the old 911, Porsche unveiled a new model based on the 992 generation of the 911 chassis. The company has already built and distributed several units around the world and retains a customer-focused program. Currently, the company is focused on Formula E, LMDh, and enhancing its Formula 1 relationship with Red Bull.

The Success of the Old Porsche GTR 3 Model

According to Porsche’s Motorsports sales director, the GTR 3 being retired has won everything that needed to be won on the racing track since 2019. Some of the major victories that it has recorded include 24-hour races at the Nürburgring, Spa-Francorchamps, 12 Hours of Sebring, and 24 Hours of Daytona. The new Porsche GT3 racing model has large shoes to fill in order to reach this level of success.
